Uses and Benefits

Most studied and well appreciated property of Citronella - it repels insects such as mosquitoes, black flies, fleas and ticks. It is a natural, non-toxic alternative to chemical insect repellents such as DEET. Its mosquito repellent qualities have been verified by research, including effectiveness in repelling Aedes aegypti (yellow fever mosquito). It can last for 6-8 hours in closed rooms. Inhaling Citronella is safe even for babies, kids, and pregnant women. To get the desired effect, burn the essential oil or use our smartly concocted Insect Repellent and carry it with you everywhere.

In closed areas, you may also add as few drops of citronella oil on potpourri. Or dilute with virgin coconut oil, place in a vase and use reed diffuser sticks. The latter 2 options do not use electricity and are safe from fire hazard.

When inhaled, Citronella helps with nervous fatigue due to its clarifying properties - known to clear the mind and can be useful against headaches and migraines.

Used in perfumery as it contains citrals that are widely used as perfume building blocks. Also used to scent soaps, candles, etc.

Calms restlessly barking dogs.

Storage and Safety:

Shelf life is up to two (2) years when kept in it's original glass amber or cobalt blue packaging, lid closed tight and kept in cool dry place, away from sunlight. In the essential oil’s pure form avoid direct contact via skin, eyes, nose and mouth. Thoroughly wash with soap and water immediately upon skin contact. Flush with running water should there be any eye contact. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

Citronella Insect Repellent Spray

Made from 100% pure and unadulterated citronella essential oil and hydrosol. Spray on pieces of furniture and corners of the house to repel, if not kill, unwanted insects. Effective for the next 6 hours from spraying.

This product is not meant to be as strong as commercial or artificial insecticides. Thus, it is safe enough for kids, your lungs and the earth.

Oil and water will always separate so just shake well before using.
